Digital Byte 63: This Is Easy to Fix

Skyline bird's-eye view

When I was struggling to scale my company, most of my challenges came from my team. At the time, every obstacle felt heavy: a missed deadline, a lack of communication, a mistake that created ripple effects. My first thought was always, This is so hard. I’m so drained.

Then a coach gave me a simple but game-changing piece of advice: “Instead, tell yourself, ‘This is easy to fix.’”

So simple yet so powerful.

That one shift reframed how I handled problems.

Because here’s the truth: the size of the problem doesn’t automatically make it complicated. What makes it complicated is how we think about it. A team conflict, a delayed project, or a client fire might feel overwhelming in the moment. But, with the right mindset, they can often be solved more simply than we assume.

Think about it:

  • A deal falls through at the last minute? “This is easy to fix.” Take the lessons, adjust your approach, and focus on the next opportunity.

  • A client or boss gives you unexpected negative feedback? “This is easy to fix.” Pause, ask clarifying questions, and use it to improve your next step.

  • A big deadline sneaks up faster than expected? “This is easy to fix.” Break the work into pieces, prioritize what matters most, and tackle it one step at a time.

Instead of spiraling into stress, the phrase “This is easy to fix” pulls you back to calm and action. It doesn’t minimize the problem; however, it empowers you to believe it’s solvable.

I’ve seen firsthand how this shift saved me hours of wasted energy. What once felt like a mountain became a small pebble. I found I had more patience with my team, more clarity in decisions, and more energy for growth.

So the next time you’re staring down what feels like a massive issue, pause. Remind yourself: This is easy to fix. Then take the first step to prove yourself right.

Big problems don’t always need big solutions. Sometimes, they just need a calmer perspective.

Stay Inspired,
