Digital Byte 53: Start Before You’re Ready

April 15th, 2025

This week marks the beginning of Passover.

It’s a time for tradition, storytelling, and reflection. And there’s one part of the Passover story that’s always stayed with me: the matzah.

If you’re not familiar, matzah is unleavened bread. When the Israelites fled Egypt, they left in such a rush that they didn’t wait for their bread to rise. They took what they had and moved forward.

That moment has always stuck with me, not just because of the hardship, but also because of the courage. It’s a reminder that sometimes, momentum matters more than perfection. That you don’t need everything fully mapped out before taking your next step.

We talk a lot about timing, systems, and strategy. But there’s also strength in trusting yourself enough to start even if things feel uncertain.

Some of my biggest “matzah moments”?

✨ Leaving my hometown of Chicago to move to New Orleans for college

✨ Picking up my life and moving to Madrid after graduation

✨ Hiring my first team member

In each case, I didn’t feel totally ready. But I moved forward anyway. And those decisions shaped everything that came next.

So wherever you are this week, personally, professionally, or somewhere in between, I hope you give yourself permission to begin. Even if the dough hasn’t risen yet.

Because sometimes, the fastest way forward… is to just go.

Wishing you a meaningful and joyful Pesach.

Stay Inspired,

Sydney Addis
