Digital Byte 67: When Everything Feels Hard, Try This
November 25th, 2025
As we move into Thanksgiving week, I’ve been thinking a lot about gratitude. Not the kind you list off quickly, but the kind that shows up when life feels heavy.
The kind that shows up on the long days.
The overwhelming days.
The “nothing is working the way I planned” days.
I’ve had a few of those lately, and maybe you have too.
What I’ve realized is that these moments don’t show up because we’re failing. They show up because we’re expanding. When your world gets bigger (your responsibilities, your ambitions, your goals), the friction grows right alongside it. The hard days aren’t proof that something is wrong. They’re proof that you’re stretching into a new version of yourself.
And that’s where gratitude becomes powerful.
Not as a mood, but as a practice.
A grounding force that shifts you from reaction to perspective.
Gratitude turns “Why is this so hard?” into “What am I learning?”
It turns chaos into clarity.
It turns challenge into a new capacity.
When you adopt that lens, everything reframes itself.
The tough conversations mean you’re leading at a higher level.
The setbacks mean you’re building something real.
The discomfort means you’re in motion.
Growth rarely feels graceful while you’re in it. But gratitude is what helps you stay open long enough to see the lesson, the pattern, the progress you couldn’t see before.
So as we head into this week, choose gratitude for your roadblocks, especially on the days when it feels like it is all going wrong. Those are the moments that bring you closer to your goals.
Stay inspired,
Sydney Addis
