Digital Byte 59: The Rooms That Move You Forward
July 15th, 2025
The right rooms don’t just open doors… they change your pace entirely.
This past week, I went to three different events, all hosted at my coworking space.
None of them were required. They pulled me away from friends and came at times that weren’t exactly ideal. I was tired. I had work to do. I could have easily stayed home. But I went anyway.
And it paid off.
I left those events with two meetings booked with ideal clients and a full page of notes that reshaped the way I’m thinking about growth, hiring, and how I want to show up in this next season.
My coworking space is almost three times the price of a typical WeWork. And while the aesthetics are great, what I’m really paying for is access. To people who are building thoughtfully. To conversations that move quickly from surface-level to strategic. To an energy that helps me move at the pace I want to be operating at.
It reminded me of something I think we all need to hear from time to time:
You don’t grow just by showing up. You grow by showing up in the right rooms.
And that often costs something.
Time. Money. Energy. Missed dinners. A little bit of awkwardness.
But every time I choose to show up, I leave better for it.
You can’t shortcut proximity. If you want to think bigger, build faster, or shift direction, you have to be around people who are doing the same.
So if you’ve been sitting on an opportunity… a new space, an event, a dinner invite from someone who intimidates you a bit, this is your sign.
Say yes.
Walk in.
Take the seat, even if you feel underqualified.
Because the rooms that stretch you are the ones that move you forward. The sooner you start showing up in them, the faster everything starts to change.
Stay inspired,
